According to the artists, the Artfields Mural was inspired by the Artfields logo which is the dandelion seed. The artists saw the Artfields logo as a very appropriate logo for the regrowth of Lake City because the dandelion seed is a pioneer plant that comes into disturbed areas to plant roots and help encourage growth. This process helps build soil so other plants can come in and thrive as well. This mural is representative of the transformative spirit and rejuvenation that's happening to Lake City area.
