With an eye exploring the relationships between light and shape, Mosholder has created a poetic and symbolic interplay between daylight and the passage of time. Using her signature ‘parabola weaving’ technique, wall panels and a free-standing installation will fill TRAX Visual Art Center in a site-specific environment of eternal light, Lux Æterna.
Mosholder will break from her traditional built environments and include a painted mural the length of the wall. She will only paint as high as she is able from her wheelchair, creating a metaphor for the increasing limitations to her mobility.
This new work, combined with her signature weaving, evokes the sense of movement in the still form; It engulfs the visual and kinetic senses to tell a poignant story about eternal presence and constant change. Lux Æterna is a multimedia experience that reflects on endings, memory and transformation in a single life.
The opening reception for this exhibition will be on Friday, January 30th from 6 – 8PM.
TRAX Visual Art Center is free and open to the public Tuesday – Saturday from 11AM – 5PM for the duration of the show.
