In Search of Light, is a solo exhibition by Miguel Gonzalez a contemporary artist, and professor from Venezuela and the USA. Blending traditional media with emerging technologies, Gonzalez creates an immersive installation that explores the symbolic, emotional, and sculptural dimensions of light.
At the center of the gallery, three towering columns of volumetric light extend into the ceiling, functioning as dynamic sculptures. Every particle of light dances and weaves its way through the air, following an algorithmic choreography that is both meticulously planned and spontaneously generated. On one wall, a projected 3D scene features baroque-style human figures caught in mid-motion, reaching toward a glowing orb of light. This digital tableau is visually pierced by a light beam, collapsing the boundary between image and space. At the far end of the room, a light tunnel forms an ephemeral corridor—accessible to the eye but not the body—evoking themes of distance, longing, and the sublime.
Gonzalez’s work sits at the intersection of sculpture, light, and technology, blending the sacred qualities of classical art with the immersive aesthetics of computer-generated space. Through kinetic beams, digital bodies, and immersive space, Gonzalez transforms the gallery into a place of myth, memory, and meditation—inviting viewers to consider what it means to seek light in an age of illusion and code.
